Grab can be useful for point-to-point trips in Metro Cebu, but the app result for your exact pickup and destination is the real availability test. Do not assume that a general Cebu listing means service everywhere on Cebu Island or across Cebu Province.
Enter the full property or facility name, inspect both map pins and add the correct entrance, wing, terminal area or pickup bay when needed. Mactan-Cebu International Airport is in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan, not in Cebu City; a trip into Cebu City or Mandaue City may include bridge traffic. At the airport, follow the current app instruction and terminal signs rather than assigning an old web-listed bay to a terminal yourself. The official MCIA pickup page is a useful cross-check, but the live booking screen controls the actual meeting point.
Check the Product, Price and Payment
Read the exact ride product before confirming because GrabCar and taxi products do not use identical pricing logic. Grab says GrabCar displays a fare before booking, while a taxi product may show an estimate; neither availability nor the final route and timing can be guaranteed.
Check the chosen payment method and any fare breakdown before acceptance. A cashless booking should not be paid again in cash, while a cash booking calls for sensible change. Tolls, extra stops, a mandatory pickup-fare item or a foreign-payment fee may appear where applicable, so compare the final e-receipt with the booking and report an unexplained charge through the trip-specific help flow. Verify the Car and Leave Time for Pickup
Before entering, match the driver name and photo, plate number and vehicle to the app. Do not take a different car or turn the booking into an informal offline ride, even if someone says that the assigned trip has been transferred.
Use in-app chat for meeting-point details, keep the trip active and use Share My Ride if it suits your safety plan. If a driver asks you to cancel, do not agree automatically: Grab says passengers are not required to cancel at a driver's request, and a disputed cancellation should be reported through the trip-specific Help Centre. App ETA is not a promise: add time for assignment, driver approach, finding the pin, loading and traffic, especially for a flight or ferry connection. If details do not match, do not board and report the trip; in immediate danger move to a safe place and call 911 or alert available airport or venue security.
