Cebu to Bohol Ferry via Tagbilaran
Cebu to Bohol Ferry via Tagbilaran
For most travelers staying on Panglao, the clearest route is an OceanJet ferry from Cebu City Pier 1 to Tagbilaran, followed by a road transfer to the hotel. The fast-ferry crossing is about two hours on the water, but check the actual sailing in the OceanJet date search because availability and schedules can change.
Names matter because both Cebu and Bohol have several ports. “Cebu Port” is too vague for a taxi driver, and a ticket to Bohol does not necessarily mean Tagbilaran. Getafe and Tubigon are different arrival ports and may suit northern or western Bohol, but they add land travel for most Panglao stays. OceanJet lists its Cebu ticketing office at Pier 1 on its official contact page.
Tagbilaran port is on Bohol, not on Panglao Island or at Alona Beach. Allow roughly 30 to 45 minutes by road to common Panglao accommodation areas as a planning estimate. The exact journey depends on whether the property is in Dauis, around Alona or elsewhere, as well as bridge and city traffic.
Booking, Check-in and the 2026 Baggage Rules
No current official fare table was verified for publication, so use the official OceanJet booking search for your actual date, class and passenger category. Read the final amount before paying and check what it includes; availability, charges and ticket conditions can vary by sailing. A price copied from an unofficial booking guide should not be treated as an operator fare.
Under the OceanJet baggage policy effective 6 February 2026, Tourist and Open Air include 10 kg. Trolley and collapsible bags must be checked. Business Class includes 20 kg and permits one hand-carry trolley within a maximum 130 cm total dimensions. Keep cash, medication, phones and valuables in hand baggage, and do not block aisles or exits.
Excess luggage from Cebu to Tagbilaran is charged by weight bracket under the same dated policy: PHP 15 per kg for up to 10 kg excess, PHP 25 per kg in the next bracket up to 30 kg, and PHP 30 per kg above that. Fragile or bulky items use different tariffs, so consult the operator table before calculating a diving kit, equipment case or unusual item.
OceanJet policy gives a minimum check-in time of 30 minutes before departure. For a first visit to Pier 1, or when checking bags, arriving about 60 minutes early is a more comfortable planning buffer. Ensure the passenger name matches the valid identification presented at check-in.
From Tagbilaran Port to Panglao
A hotel pickup or pre-arranged car is usually easiest with several bags because the meeting point and price can be fixed in advance. Taxi or locally arranged tricycle transport may also work. Comfort and luggage space vary, and no reliable universal fare was found, so show the complete hotel address, agree the price before boarding, and clarify whether it covers every passenger and bag.
Send the hotel your vessel and expected arrival time, but keep enough flexibility for baggage collection and a delayed docking. If you are heading to Bohol-Panglao International Airport rather than a hotel, avoid a tight ferry-to-flight connection. Sea conditions, operational changes and road traffic can remove a narrow margin quickly.
Before travel, verify four items together: Cebu Pier 1 as the departure point, Tagbilaran as the booked destination, the current sailing in the operator search, and the transfer destination on Panglao. That check prevents the costliest errors: arriving at the wrong Cebu pier, buying for the wrong Bohol port, or assuming the ferry terminal is beside the resort.
