Philippines Braces for Danger Level Heat Index in Two Areas
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning that two regions in the country are expected to experience heat indices categorized as "danger level" on March 25, 2025. The heat index, which combines air temperature and humidity to reflect perceived heat, is anticipated to reach between 42°C and 51°C in these areas. Such conditions pose significant health risks, including heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and the potential for heat stroke with prolonged exposure.
In Metro Manila, temperatures are projected to peak at 38°C in NAIA Pasay City, while Science Garden in Quezon City may see highs of up to 36°C. These readings fall under the "extreme caution" category, where heat-related illnesses are possible, especially with continuous physical activity. PAGASA advises residents to take preventive measures such as staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and wearing light clothing to mitigate health risks associated with high temperatures.
