Rain and Thunderstorms Could Affect Cebu Trips This Week
Cebu travelers should keep outdoor plans flexible from Monday, September 28, through Friday, October 2. PAGASA's weekly outlook says the Intertropical Convergence Zone is bringing cloudy skies, scattered rain and thunderstorms to most of the Visayas on September 27–29. From September 30 to October 2, the trough of another possible circulation east of the country may maintain similar conditions.
What the Cebu tourist forecast shows
The forecast for Cebu's selected tourist areas lists cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms and temperatures of about 26–31°C for September 28 and 29. Conditions may become partly cloudy to cloudy on September 30, but rain showers or thunderstorms remain possible. This is a regional outlook: one beach can be dry while another part of Cebu receives a heavy downpour, and short-notice advisories can replace the weekly forecast.
How to plan islands, beaches and road trips
Confirm island-hopping, diving, canyoning and ferry departures on the morning of travel. Operators may delay or cancel activities because of lightning, visibility, river flow or sea conditions even if it is not raining at your hotel. Keep electronics and documents in a waterproof pouch, use shoes with grip and leave extra time on roads where intense showers can slow traffic. Never shelter under an isolated tree during a thunderstorm. Check PAGASA rainfall, thunderstorm and marine advisories again before departure, and follow the Coast Guard or operator if a sea trip is suspended.
